We have a bilingual house but we don't live in a bilingual area. Since I would like my son to be taught in both languages I have been looking for educational materials in Spanish. So far I've hit a wall. Anyone have any ideas where I can find math and reading books in Spanish? I've already tried Houghton Mifflin and Harcourt Brace. Any bilingual elementary education teachers who can give me a hint about where to look?Bilingual Education Resources?
It sounds like you want a Dual Immersion Program! Those are research based as the most successful bilingual programs.
For Materials I rely on:
www.enchantedlearning.com
For 20bucks a year you can find spanish versions to most of their resources for english!
www.readinga-z.com
Click on samples. There are spanish ones there too. This membership is a bit more expensive but its worth it.
Also, go to www.scholastic.com There are tons of books there! The catalog is called ClubLeo I believe.
www.literacycenter.net
Click on Spanish. This is appropriate for Kindergarten age kids. It deals with numbers, letters, and shapes
