Why are there so many parents missing in Disney channel?

Their are a lot of missing parents in shows in Disney channel and stuff. Hannah Montana- mom died. Zack and Cody- divorce. Icarly- parents at work.

I understand that it is realistic for families to be divorced but on Disney channel I want a happy family.Why are there so many parents missing in Disney channel?
Because it gives the child characters the illusion of independence, and that's attractive to the real children who make up the target audience. This was a staple of children's literature and folklore long before Disney came along. Kids don't want to see "happy families" because that involves adults hovering around, telling the children what to do. Kids want to see other kids making decisions and solving problems for themselves, without interference from Mom and Dad. Don't confuse entertainment with real life; it's not about being realistic. It's about engaging in the fantasy of independence.Why are there so many parents missing in Disney channel?
There are alot of happy families too, but they are trying to teach children that families are not always happy and together. And that you can still have fun, and love, and have a good life even with these types of families and problems. :)
