Has anyone visited universal studios while staying in Disney?

We are thinking of taking a taxi from caribbean beach resort to universal for the day. If anyone has done this, how much is the fare? Also, is there any other way to get from disney to universal besides a taxi?Has anyone visited universal studios while staying in Disney?
i have.

i would NOT recommend taking a taxi. it can easily run you about $40 EACH WAY.

your other options would be the lynx public bus. its cheap BUT you may have to change buses several times, it will take you a while to get there, and it can be confusing for someone that is not familiar with the area.

what i would recommend is reserving a mears shared shuttle van. you just call mears at least 24 hours in advance to set it up. you tell them where you want to be picked up from and where you want to go and when. they will pick you up in front of your hotel and drop you off at the drop off zone at universal. it costs about $18 ROUND TRIP per person.
I don't want to disagree with Robin, but I would recommend that you call Universal's Guest Relations department and make the ask. There are shuttle buses, but most cost money. And, make sure if you are going to walk, that you exit the bus or trolley at the far North end of I drive, or instead of a 1 mile walk, you could have a 12 mile walk.

While we have always stayed at Disney, we always rent a cheap car because there is so much more to see and do while in the area. If you rent something off-airport, than you don't have to pay the upwards of 1/3 more just in taxes and fees that are tacked onto your airport rentals. I would highly recommend that you do this, as most 1 week rentals are about the same price as taking a round trip cab from Disney to Universal and back..

Good luck and enjoy your vacation.Has anyone visited universal studios while staying in Disney?
There are loads of shuttle buses to I-Drive (International) from Disney (mostly bringing people the other way) and there is a free bus from there into Universal...actually it is only a 10 minuet walk (but no one walks in America). Your hotel will have details of the shuttle bus services and no doubt they will want to take your money and arrange it for you (you can always get a better deal and avoid them taking a commission).
There is also a car rental on property at Disney. they will pick you up and take you back to your hotel to get your rental car and this way you can rent it only for a day or two that you plan to visit attractions outside of Disney!Has anyone visited universal studios while staying in Disney?
I agree with Indiana Jones on this one. Take the Shuttle Van. You'll get a direct ride there with no hassle and it will be WAY cheaper than a Taxi.
