What are some good places to eat at in Disney World?

I am going to Disney World next month for the first time and need some ideas on where to make reservations to eat. My boyfriend and I are staying in the Animal Kingdom and we also have the dining plan. Any suggestions? What are some good places to eat at in Disney World?
If you are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, you ABSOLUTELY without a doubt have to eat at Boma! I absolutely guarantee you will love it. Boma is at the Animal Kingdom lodge, the dinner buffet is one of the best meals at Disney, and with your dining plan, in my opinion your best value.

I am not sure how many days you are going to be in Disney World, but let me also offer a quick run-down of the best bets "around the world."

For the Magic Kingdom, IF you can obtain a lunch reservation at Cinderella's Royal Table (in the castle), go for it - just to be able to say that you ate in the castle when you get home will be a lasting memory for you and your boyfriend. Also at Magic Kingdom, if you like character dining (where you eat your meal and are visited by the characters at your table), Pooh and friends are at the Crystal Palace buffet, while Liberty Tree has Goofy, Minnie, Chip, and Dale. Tony's in Town Square is also very good if you like Italian.

Disney's Hollywood Studios has some good choices. It depends on your preference, but my favorite there is 50's Prime Time Cafe. The theme there is what makes the restaurant a great dining experience, plus the food is pretty good "home style" meals. Sci-Fi is a restaurant where you can eat in a "car" as if you're at an old drive-in theater. Not sure about your budget, but the Brown Derby is a "Signature Dining Experience" at the Studios. You can actually trade-in two of your table service meals for one Signature meal. I would lean more towards quantity if you are wanting to get the most out of your trip, but it's up to you. Mama Melrose's is also pretty good at Studios, they serve Italian style foods.

At Epcot, well, let's just say whatever your favorite type of food is, they have it - Chinese, Japanese, Italian, Mexican, Moroccan...the table service restaurants around the World Showcase are cream of the crop, and you will definitely get great value out of your dining plan. The best restaurant there is the Japanese steakhouse (although it is not a participant in the dining plan), the food is AMAZING and the presentation is even better! There are two character dining locations - Garden Grill in The Land Pavilion, and also Restaurant Akershus in Norway has various Disney Princesses. Both are decent food quality, again, it depends on your taste. Le Cellier in Canada is an excellent place to eat also if you enjoy a steakhouse with outstanding cheese soup (trust me, it's worth it!). Also, in the United Kingdom pavilion, The Rose %26amp; Crown is great. Afterward you can walk into the courtyard and listen to a live band "British Invasion" playing Beatles tunes. This is especially fun with your favorite "beverage" of choice! Sort of like an outdoor concert series.

Another answerer suggested ESPN Club and Planet Hollywood. I would not recommend this. If you want to go there, then that's fine. However, in regards to your dining plan, it's just not good value (the food is not that great in comparison to the Disney restaurants). Plus, you can go to one of those restaurants anytime in a number of place throughout the country. The Disney Dining experience is more than just the food, it's the show and the atmosphere. I think you will understand when you visit, the service is unparalleled, and the quality is second to none.

I hope I didn't ramble too much! Have a good time and if you have any other questions let me know!
With the meal plan you can eat at Liberty Tree Tavern at the Magic Kingdom. It's excellent. You can also eat at ESPN and Planet Hollywood. What are some good places to eat at in Disney World?

I put a link that should link you right to the Dining Finder at the web site, it is very helpful and you can peak at menus and what not!
I would love to make a long list of suggestions, but most return visitors make reservations 180 days, yes six months in advance. If I were you I would go to www.waltdisneyworld.com and also call 1-407-WDWDine and ask what is available on the nights you are there. You will be amazed at the limitations one month in advance. From the website choose about fifteen favorites and see what they can get for you. What are some good places to eat at in Disney World?
eat at Boma at the AK Lodge.....

One on my favorites is the Whispering Canyon Cafe at the Wilderness Lodge.

The California Grill at the Contemporary is good too.

when i go i always get the dining plan i love it and its soo worth it.

a tip though: instead of using one of you meals on breakfast you should bring so cerial or poptarts or well something you like to eat at breakfast and also buy the $12 refillable mug at your hotel you can use it as many times as you want at your hotel for the duration of your stay.

ok awesome places to eat:

First you need to move very quickly as the best places started filling 5 months ago!

Second, see this page. It ranks all the table service places at Disney World based on a combination of four or five other lists: http://yourfirstvisit.net/planning-your-…

Hope this helps and have a great trip!! Dave
The kids and I really did not like the Boma at the AKL. but we are not big fans of buffets.

Mama Melrose at Hollywood Studio is our favorite. For atmosphere do try the Coral Reef at EPCOT - very different than any other restuarant you will go to.

We do like the French restaruant there too. Great food.
Magic Kingdom-The Crystal Palace

(Its a Buffet and its realllly good.)

Epcot-Garden Grill

(More casual place, and the food is great)

MGM-Sci-Fi Dine In Theature

(Really cool....search pictures of it on Google)

Animal Kingdom-We didnt eat anywhere there. The Rainforest Cafe dosent accept Dining Plan.

You were so smart getting the Dining Plan. It will save you tons. One buffet at the Crystal Palace is about 50 bucks and you dont even pay that in a day.

CHEF MICKEYS!!! Go there for Breakfest. Its really good and all the characters are there.

Pizza Planet at MGM is a good counter service choice.

most of the counter service places dont have a name or they sell litterally McDonalds food.

Hope I Helped
Bier Gardens at EPCOT is really great, we eat there every time we go. There's always an "Oompah" band that invites you out to dance and the foods excellent - German. And the best character meal is at the Liberty Tree at the Magic Kingdom, it's home cooking style meal. Those both count as one of your sit down meals, so it's a good deal.
Our fave is Whispering Canyon Cafe at Wilderness Lodge

BTW.... dining plan rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!
