Why french people are often considerated as bad people in American movies?

I can not understand why french people as considerated as bad people in American movies...

I am french, and i am fed up seeing american movies why french people described as lier...

why? we are not like that ?

I think because the consensus in America is that the French hate us. Therefore they tend to be SOMETIMES portrayed as bad people. I'm American, and no matter how people are portrayed in movies it doesn't reflect on how I think about them, I try to base what I think on personal experience.
