Why do they all ways put the American flags, on the uniforms, backwards in movies?

I can not think of a single movie where they put the American flag on the uniforms correctly.Why do they all ways put the American flags, on the uniforms, backwards in movies?They don't. When worn on the right sleeve the stars are supposed to be forward, when worn on the left they still are supposed to be forward. That's where you are confused.
