Why are American made movies so predictable?

Predictable scenes include: an American flag in background; if wedding its Jewish; funerals are catholic; if in a hurry it's"go go go"; I could go on for ever. I don't think any of the weddings and the funeral in Four Weddings and a Funeral were either Jewish or Catholic.



While I can agree that there are many movies out there that are awful your examples of such are kind of lame.



And for the record, the awfulness quotient transcends borders so your dumping on American made movies probably stems more from an anti American attitude rather than a so called cultured sense in good cinema.Why are American made movies so predictable?The same reason British films are predictable.



They will drink tea.

They will drive on the left side of the road.

There will be awkward silences.



I imagine it is because in England, people drink tea and drive on the left side of the road. I do not call it rubbish.



If you aren't open to other cultures, it is not my problem.
All movies are predictable, originality is rare especially in movies, the world goes for quanity other than quality the same for music.
