Sick of the large excessive amount of American Vietnam War movies?

Where Americans are portrayed as being the heroes and that it seems like they won the war in the movie?

of course there are exceptions but still...

like i just saw watchmen and i thought that was pretty bad...

not knowing that it was the Americans that had killed hundreds of Vietnamese civilians in thinking that they were the "VC".Sick of the large excessive amount of American Vietnam War movies?I don't ever get sick of war movies...but sometimes the Vietnam War is overdone.

I agree with you in that they often make us look like the hero, but any culture responsible for said films will make their own people look the most appealing, strong, and moral.

It's the same with the media on the War on Terror. They tell plenty of information about who killed what American soldiers and how many "bad guys" we killed, but they never mention the countless civilians that we injure during combat or when we drop bombs.

20/20 did an amazing piece on it last year or the year before that. They interviewed civilians that shared their stories. It was nice to see things from a different point of view.

Candy coating sh*t doesn't help anyone and only builds the arrogance and ignorance in people.Sick of the large excessive amount of American Vietnam War movies?
Yeah I definately agree though I haven't seen watchmen. I know only a handful of Americans (live in Australia) and they were so confused about the Viet war. They insisted America has never lost anything ever,

Baummd - America was already involved with Vietnam since 1945 where they fought France then declared independence and split south and north. America backd the south because they were anticommunist. By 1958 VC began to battle the South. '73 US troops left from pressure and death toll and in 75 the south surrended to the north.

So yeah, it was a win or lose situation: North Vietnam 'defeated' America and the southSick of the large excessive amount of American Vietnam War movies? The only difference between the VC and Civilians was when they decided to change back and forthSick of the large excessive amount of American Vietnam War movies?
There are SO FEW American Viet Nam movies, it isn't even funny. Please do some real research, like at IMDB.com

Compare the amount of Viet Nam films (less than 20-30) with WWII, WWI, KOREAN WAR, CIVIL WAR.

Know your movies...

It's one thing to like or hate a movie; it's quite another to say "large excessive amount"

Sheesh!Sick of the large excessive amount of American Vietnam War movies? The Vietnam War wasn't really a war involving two countries. It was a civil war between North and South Vietnam. The Americans got involved. Then they pulled out. There were no winners or losers on the whole Vietnam vs America.
