How come American TV shows, movies, and music is all over the country and not vice versa?

We get BBC where I'm at, but that's about it. I know people in Ireland and Australia who get all of our tv shows like "Friends" and all the movies that are from here. However, I happen to know there are incredible movies shot in Australia and they're not shown here. Why is this?? Why don't we get entertainment from other countries here?How come American TV shows, movies, and music is all over the country and not vice versa?That's true as far as music, but I have notices a lot of British TV shows and remakes lately in the US, oh yes and Degrassi (Canada) and as far as music everybody know who are pop stars are but rarely do we know theirs.

I have Directv and they offer a variety of channels that do not have American TV shows and novelas hog up the non-cable channels.How come American TV shows, movies, and music is all over the country and not vice versa?
Ya know there are A LOT of American TV shows that are the remake of British ones %26amp; you've just gotta look a guess. Seriously there are LOADS of things ya copied fra us. :) AND there are plenty other films ya copied fra other countries. Just saying ya know and there are loads of British bands that av made it in America. :P

My cousin has this thing called Dish Network that provides him with channels from many different countries if he asks for it.

I get at least 6 channels of international programming and that isn't counting BBC America.
