Which accent do they use in old classical (American) movies?

Like in movies in the 30s they use a sort of British accent? What is it considered?Which accent do they use in old classical (American) movies?I know what you mean. It's like a very proper, non-regional diction. I don't know what you would call the "accent", though. Sometimes sophisticated or wealthy people in movies would seem to have a hint of a British accent, because they're so proper. People also spoke more elegantly back then, using words and phrases that have since kind of faded away. Proper grammar and all of that. But sometimes I'd be watching an old film and I'd wonder, "Did Americans have British accents back then?"Which accent do they use in old classical (American) movies? No. In 1930's AMERICAN movies, the AMERICAN characters use AMERICAN accents, not British accents.

The style of speech in some of those films was different tho. A sort of clipped, rapid delivery.Which accent do they use in old classical (American) movies?i think most of the old movies were from england but if you said they're american, they might be set in england.
