Why is it that in American movies ALL Europeans, no matter where they're from, have British accents?

I'm curious.Why is it that in American movies ALL Europeans, no matter where they're from, have British accents?because american people naturally associate europe with england. Also not as many people recognize a norwegian accent which is also a european countryWhy is it that in American movies ALL Europeans, no matter where they're from, have British accents?So we can understand them?Why is it that in American movies ALL Europeans, no matter where they're from, have British accents?The two main exceptions are the French accents and the German accents. Occasionally you get a Nordic and Italian accents. All the rest tend to be British because that is where the actor was educated and learned to speak English fluently.
