1.French-All about 'scary mystery', they avoid showing graphic things and let your imagination picture how bad it is. American-They throw ketchup all over the actors and have graphic death scenes.



2.French-will be more 'mid evil' or 'Victorian', American-like the more 'anywhere USA look'.



3.French-will have some tasteful, artsy nudity, American-what ever 'bimbo' character is in the move is sure to loose her top in no time.



4.French-everyone will be scared and fight back with intelligence, American-will be full of macho things



5.(Big One)French movies will have unique plots. The American movie will follow the Same Dumb Scary Base Plot that they have been doing for 50 years now. The movie Scream lampshades this..you get the things like: nobody ever thinks to grab a weapon, even after five people die-they will still 'split up' and 'run' towards a noise, the virgin will live(as will typically the stud guy and a good girl...everyone else is dead.).What's the difference between american scary movies and french scary movies?Yes rather than oui.
